WALL ARE SECRET DIARIES FOR JUW STUDENTS

From our childhood we used to hear that writing on walls is a bad habit. When we wrote anything on a wall we were scolded by our mothers, but now at this stage of our age girls used to write numbers, comments, poetries, and their personal stories on the walls of our Jinnah university and no one is there to scold them. In my opinion writing on walls like this is awful; we have to maintain cleanliness in our university. Everybody should think that this is not a government school, it is a university and we all should have to be mature at our university level.

FUN FEAST CARNIVAL

After almost three months of hectic studies, the administration of JUW gave relaxing day to the students which they named as “MELA”. This time the mela was much better than that of last year, and there was a huge crowd gathered at the university. The two most popular personalities of our political parties “Raza Haroon” and “Faisal Sabzwari” were the chief guests of our mela.

There were stalls of jewelries, dresses, face painting, and most important food stalls. Food stalls were the most fascinating stalls of every mela, people usually enjoy gol gappa’s, chat’s gola ganda’s, rather than wandering here and there in every stalls in these type of carnivals.

There were also some swings for the people, and they enjoyed riding them. There were all colorful ladies around the university that day which gave a new look to JINNAH UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN.

Overloaded Vans Of Jinnah University

I want to raise this issue because I myself facing this problem. The transport system of our university is not satisfactory. There is only a space of around 15 girls in a van but drivers try to accommodate more than 20 girls in it to earn more and more money, which makes our journey miserable from our houses to our university. As the prices of all amenities including diesel, petrol etc are rising day by day the drivers are in a state of stress because they have to give half of their salary to their owners and half left to run their families. Therefore, they are forced to increase the fees after every semester, which is creating problems for the students because most of the girls belong to middle class families. The administrator of transport system should look into this matter and try to solve it.

Citizen Journalism

A speaker session held in Jinnah University of Women in which Mr.Owais Mangalwala, anchor and producer of the show ‘Meri Nazar’ shared his views on citizen journalism. He said journalism is powerful plus manipulated, every person wants to see things according to his\her own views. He defined citizen journalism as “when the people use the tools of communication to interact with the people this is citizen journalism”. He also shared 4 points which citizen journalism can give to people, which are;
·         Sharing of experience
·         Sharing of opinions
·         Sharing of discovery
·         Sharing of expertise

Mr. Mangalwala told the audience that this concept is working all around the world, some people doesn’t believe in citizen journalism, some people think it is a ‘power of democracy’. Every person has the right to share his\her point of view with the people and we must give chance to everybody to share their views in a right way.
In the end he gave few key points which are useful in citizen journalism. Those points were:

·         Necessity to be real.
·         Events are around find it and cover it.
·         Write your own point of view.
·         Keep your eyes open everything can be reported.
·         Be descriptive but not exaggerate.
·         Accuracy is the key so be accurate.
·         Use good words and correct grammar.
·         Follow the code of conduct.
·         Find mentor.
·         Don't ever think that what you are doing is a boring job.
·         Avoid plagiarism.
·         Follow news writing format.
·         Every day is not a big day.

They are giving an interesting platform to the people in which anyone can participate by giving their reports.
